What are the requirements for becoming a cabin crew and how much can I earn?

Do you dream of becoming a cabin crew? If yes, then you might know becoming a cabin crew has lots of perks like you can travel to different locations of the world, meet people belonging to different cultures and sometimes you can get the opportunity to meet your favorite celebrity on a trip and the salary is also good and the job is very glamorous and if you love shopping then the duty free of various airports and shopping malls of different cities are there for you. This job is ideal for the aspirants who like to serve people and be with people and love to travel. A cabin crew generally earns approximately around INR 25,000- 40,000 per month which increases with experience. For International airlines your salary can increase up to INR 80,000- 1, 00,000 approximately depending on your experience.

There are many Aviation Colleges and institutes where aspirants can enroll themselves to fulfill their dream of becoming a cabin crew and flying high with various Cabin Crew Training Courses but being a cabin crew is not about looking beautiful and smart it is more than that.  The cabin crew has many responsibilities to take, which is not easy as it seems.  Today I am going to discuss the main criteria required for becoming a cabin crew. They are as follows:

  ♦  The minimum qualification required to opt for any cabin crew training courses is clearing of 10+2 examinations in any stream from a recognized board.

  ♦  You must be between 18- 26 years of age and unmarried. Skin complexion has nothing to do but your height should be above 5 feet 1 inch and your weight needs to be proportionate to your height. You need to be physically fit and have an attractive personality.

  ♦  You must have a very pleasing personality with a very polite and pleasant voice if you want to become a cabin crew. Also, cabin crew must possess a presence of mind to deal with tricky situations. You must be a very good team player as you will have 12 -14 members in your team with whom you are required to work.

  ♦  The cabin crew must have exceptional communication skills, especially speaking. You need to be proficient in speaking English because you need to communicate with various people belonging to different countries and cultures. Knowing another international language other than English is an extra added advantage.

  ♦  Apart from these qualifications, you need to have remarkable customer service skills. You have to greet 300-400 passengers boarding the flight daily with a broad smile on your face and have to ensure that all the passengers are comfortable and their requirements are fulfilled without any issues.

  ♦  You will often get unruly passengers who may scream and shout at you but you need to deal with them in a very calm and composed manner and always with a broad smile. I know it is very difficult but you have to because this is the job you have dreamt of serving people, being with people. So the cabin crew must be patient all the time.

  ♦  Also whether you work with domestic airlines or international emergencies can crop up any time anywhere, be mentally prepared for that. The aviation colleges will train you very well in how to deal with such situations but additionally, you also need to prepare yourself. It is very common for airplanes to face some sort of turbulence but sometimes they are very rough and severe and most of the passengers feel scared. You may also feel scared but you need to hide your fears and with a smile, you need to assure them that the condition will pass soon and there is nothing to worry about.
