I am going to discuss the career opportunities after pursuing the IATA Authorized courses. Many aviation colleges in India offer IATA authorized courses where aspirants can enroll themselves to pursue these courses. First of all, I am going to give a short synopsis of IATA to make the term and its purposes more clear. The International Air Transport Association or IATA is a global trade organization for air transport with its headquarters in Montreal, Canada. It leads and represents the Aviation Industry.  The IATA also offers a vast range of certified travel and tourism courses that are internationally acclaimed and accepted and the aspirants after completing the IATA authorized courses can gain employment at the front line or entry-level operations of airlines. Some of these courses are: 

Foundation Course in travel and tourism: The course is ideal for candidates who are interested in learning travel and tourism, for airline reservation agents, for tour operators, etc. The minimum eligibility criteria for this course is 10+2

Advanced Cargo rating and marketing Course: This course is perfect for sales and marketing staff at cargo agencies and at air freight forwarders. After completion of this course, candidates can take up jobs like sales, reservations, and acceptance staff at airlines. A graduation degree is a must for pursuing this course.

Aviation security screening diploma: This course helps the aspirants to identify weapons and access security threats, to perform security measures and access control duties as per industry compliance. Travel Agents and Tour Operators: As travel agents and tour operators, candidates will be engaged in marketing and selling different tour and travel packages for several domestic and international destinations, taking care of all the necessary obligations related to the tours and travels such as bookings, boarding, lodging, food, and itinerary, etc.

Airline Ticketing Agent: This person is responsible for booking flight tickets and handling reservations for customers. They directly interact with customers, answer their queries about the flight timings, fares, seat availability, etc.

Ground Handling Staff: As a ground handling staff you will welcome and attend to customers before boarding and after landing, providing them information, assisting customers in a wheelchair or who are travelling with infants, checking in luggage, etc.

Cargo Handling Supervisor: The cargo handling supervisors supervise and coordinate the activities of the ground crew in the loading, securing, unloading of baggage. They may also accompany as members of the flight crew in the aircraft and monitor inflight cargo handling.
